FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Do you use silver fillings?

No, we do not use amalgam fillings and our office has in fact been amalgam/mercury free
since its inception. If we do remove amalgam fillings we have a special filter in place to
capture it before it hits the sewer system to protect the environment.

Will my procedure hurt?

We make every effort to ensure your visit is pain free. We pre numb with gel so in most
cases you will not feel the "needle". Once you are anaesthetized most procedures are
very comfortable. A large number of procedures do not require freezing.

Do I have to pay up front?

As a courtesy to our patients we will direct bill to your insurance company, all you are responsible for is the portion that your insurance doesn't pay. An example might be if
your insurance covers only 80% of your expenses.

Do you accept new patients?

Absolutely! We love adding new families to our practice! We love kids!

Can you straighten my smile?

Yes, and in a number of ways including orthodontics and/or cosmetic procedures
depending on your preferences.

What about sterilization?

We take sterilization very seriously and comply with all provincial regulations. Our
equipment is state-of-the-art and is monitored by an independant third party to
ensure it is functioning properly.

What about emergencies?

We endeavour to see emergencies as quickly as possible. Afters hours Dr. Bornau can
be reached on his cell phone as well.
